Bush's Somalia Strategy Enables an Ethiopian Despot
By Paul Wachter, Feb 13, 2007 -
It may be too early to tell what, if anything, has been accomplished by the recent US-backed Ethiopian invasion of Somalia, but at least on the streets of Addis Ababa one thing has become clear. Here in the Horn of Africa, as elsewhere, Washington is all too happy to overlook the undemocratic excesses of a dictator who will do its bidding in the "war on terror."

Bush bombs Africa, no outcry!
“I think the policy is wrong. I think that to go in and bomb that country with no authority is wrong,” Rep. Donald Payne (D-N.J.) told The Final Call. “And I believe that we have 450,000 people killed in Darfur, and we won’t even support the UN going in there. And here we have so-called, some suspected al-Qaeda operatives. None of them even Somali

ZENAWI’S COURT IS LIKELY TO IMPRISON OR KILL THE “YING”, THE NONVIOLENT MOVEMENT AND THE KINIJIT.”
KNA Editorial, Jan 31, 2007
Mr. Meles Zenawi had falsely accused the leaders of Kinijit of treason and genocide when he placed them in jail in November 2005, and the court is going to provide a verdict in February 2007. This editorial points to the role Zenawi had played in Ethiopia since 1991,indicates the likely verdict that the court is is instructed to pass, and suggests the meaning of that verdict.

Irresponsible Postings of KIL Associated Blogs and Web Sites Undermining the Struggle
Fabricated reporting has seriously undermined Kinijit’s struggle as witnessed on Jan 30, 2006 in which East Timor Prison torture pictures was posted as Ethiopian by various KIL associated web sites that includes KIL, Ethio Media Forum, Abu Gida and Ethiopian Review as well as the blog Ethio-Zagol. Despite the fact that the KIL associated web sites have quickly removed the pictures after being informed by disgusted Ethiopians other innocent opposition sites like the one linked below have been mislead by the sources "Ethio-Media Forum (EMF)" and “Ethio Zagol”. This reckless deed of KIL associated sites has also become a big propaganda weapon for Woyane site "Aiga Forum" Click and Look Top Left Corner thus undermining Kinijit and the Ethiopian People in the process. It is also remembered that KIL itself has originated by an email letter with no signatures and this email (currently proved as fabrication as confirmed by Ato Hailu letter) was among the main reasons for the decision by KNA Chairman Shaleka Yosef in suspending KIL.

Opinion Jan 12: PREEMPTION IS A FALSE RIGHT
by HG, Jan 2007 - Mr. Zenawi used preemption as his right to invade Somalia in December 2006. Details and a sequence of events concerning the invasion are given elsewhere. Since coming to power in 1991 Zenawi has behaved in ways that cannot be expected from a rational individual with a discernible plan for the future other than destroying Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Civil Rights leader Professor Mesfin Woldemariam in his book, “Yekiulkulet Khedet”, examined issues when the social contract is broken and likened the condition as a trip to the abyss. He argued that "khedet" (denial of a social contract) is not only a mistake; and though “khedet” is linked to ignorance and stupidity, it is not only the sum of the two; “khedet” is going outside of the light

PRESS RELEASE: Ethio-Somalia Friendship Committee
Ethiopians and Somalians Join in Urgent Call
for Peace and Change: Jan 4, 2006.
There was an acknowledgement that the current war being waged by Ethiopia in Somalia
was largely unsupported by the people of Ethiopia. Instead it was seen as Prime Minister Meles
Zenawi’s war for his own political survival and one that returned the transitional government to
power although the people of Ethiopia or Somalia had chosen neither. It is hoped that a
government, that truly represents the people, will be promoted and established.
